This summer King's Church is focusing on the topic of discipleship. While CG's and Sunday School classes break for the summer, we will be offering three ways for you to grow in the discipline of pouring into and being mentored by other members of the body of Christ.

King's Men and King's Women will each be reading book selections that focus on a specific and important form of discipleship. At the end of the summer, each ministry will have a meeting to discuss the content of the book and how we can apply it as a church.

The King's Men's book selection is "Side By Side" by Edward T. Welch. This book takes a look at the nuts and bolts of having deep, meaningful friendships that challenge and encourage. In a world where men struggle to get deeper than surface level relationships, we want the men of our church to be known by their genuine love for one another. Welch's book is sure to give our men a vision for this type of God-glorifying friendship.

The King's Women's book selection is "Spiritual Mothering" by Susan Hunt. This book focuses on the biblical call for older women to be cultivating nurturing relationships with the younger women of the church and vise versa. Sometimes the idea of cultivating these types of relationships can be intimidating, but Susan Hunt's book will show you just how important and natural spiritual mothering is to the body of Christ.

Another way King's Church will be growing in the area of discipleship this summer will be through a parenting seminar by Paul Tripp called "Foundations of a Godly Home." This seminar will take place on July 12th and 13th. If you are a parent, you won't want to miss this encouraging and helpful seminar. Childcare and meals will be provided. More information, as well as cost for the seminar will follow.
